Associate Professor
After studies at the Toho Gakuen School of Music and Würzburg Hochschule für Musik, Atsushi Ochiai performed all across Europe. He won various international competitions and subsequently performed with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony, National Symphony Orchestra of Spain, Australian Philharmonic Symphony, Athenian Symphony, Hofer Symphony, Brescia Festival Orchestra, Ravenna Festival Orchestra, Perth Symphony, Canberra Symphony, Craiova Radio Symphony, Mittenwald Symphony, Cassel Municipal Theater Orchestra, Exciting Orchestra, Venice Chamber Ensemble, Steinach Chamber Orchestra, Busch Chamber Orchestra, Collegium Aureum Chamber Orchestra, Žilina Chamber Orchestra, etc., as well as many piano concertos with the Ulbrich Quartet and joint performances with Friedrich Gulda and Peter Schreier.

Furthermore, Ochiai performs jazz, pop, and improvisational styles, with leading jazz musicians such as Yuzuru Sera, Hidehiko Matsumoto, Eiji Kitamura, composes and arranges music for many different media, and frequently participates in international festivals.

In addition to those activities, he polishes sit-down comedy routines as a hobby and dreams of one day performing on the rakugo stage.
