A graduate of the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Yukihiko Nishizawa participated in the Suigyu (Water Buffalo) Band, led by Yuji Takahashi, from 1978 to 1985, and actively developed a unique performance style both at home and abroad. In 1980, he formed Musica Practica with Jo Kondo and Norio Sato to perform contemporary music, and for 10 years they premiered and replayed domestic and foreign pieces. In addition, he has appeared at such music festivals as "Music Today", "Contemporary Music Exhibition", and "Tokyo Summer Festival", and has performed Japanese contemporary pieces at music festivals abroad. Currently, he gives concerts regularly as a member of Ensemble Nomade.
