Associate Professor
After earning his high school diploma from the High School of Music at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, he graduated summa cum laude from the same institution in 1985. He finished his graduate studies there and went to the former West Germany, where he graduated with top honors from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in 1990. While at school, he gave critically-acclaimed performances in Germany and the Netherlands. After coming back to Japan, he appeared in a Japan Federation of Musicians' concert granted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and in recitals in many cities. He has played with top performers both at home and abroad, including Rainer Küchl, Rolf Smedvig, Nobuko Imai, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and Yuzuko Horigome, and his steady and stable performances and musicality are fully trusted. Recently, he has increased his activities in writing, broadcasting, premiering new works, and giving open lectures. He studied music under Takako Horie, Hiroshi Tamura, Conrad Hansen, Friedrich Wilhelm Schnurr, Paul Badura-Skoda, and Eric Heidsieck.
